FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I actually own the item, or just a share of it?

You own the whole object outright — it's a deed, not a fraction. That's a deliberate choice: whole-object ownership with vaulting is legally closer to a warehouse/bailment arrangement, not a security.

If I own it, why does Owndry hold it?

Because keeping the object in one insured vault is what makes trading instant. When you sell, nothing has to ship — ownership simply transfers in our ledger and the object stays put.

What can I sell?

Anything of real value that we can authenticate: watches, trading cards, sneakers, handbags, fine art, coins, comics, jewelry, wine, memorabilia, cameras, collectibles, and more. Authenticating the object itself — not just pre-graded items — is the whole point.

How do I know an item is real?

Nothing is listed until it physically passes authentication at our intake center. Each item carries a full authentication report and a unique asset ID you can review before buying.

Is my item insured?

Yes — items in the vault are insured for their assessed value while stored at Wilmington, DE.

How do I get my item shipped to me?

From your vault, hit Redeem and enter a shipping address. You pay $35 for insured shipping, we pull and pack it, and ship with tracking. Redeeming removes it from the market.

What does it cost?

Buyers pay a 3% service fee; sellers pay a 8% transaction fee. Authentication intake is $25 per object. Storage is free. See the Fees page for a full breakdown.

Is this a security or an investment product?

No. You're buying and owning a whole physical object. Owndry is a marketplace, not a broker or investment platform, and nothing here is investment advice.
